Farashganj Sporting Club rallied in the second half to crush visiting Chittagong Mohammedan 3-0 in yesterday's B. League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.Ali Hossain scored a brace and striker Mohammed Robin struck his fourth league goal as the riversiders recorded their second win in seven matches to put an end to the port city club's impressive five-match undefeated run. Farashganj raised their tally to nine points while Chittagong Mohammedan, who remained unbeaten since losing to current leaders Sheikh Russel in the inaugural round, stuck to fifth place with 11 points. The tourists, who rested in the previous week, lacked the flair in the eighth round clash and completely lost their way after a goalless first half. Robin's low cross from the set up the first goal for Ali Hossain when the attacking midfielder, left unguarded, effortlessly shot home in the 58th minute. Hossain doubled the lead in the 75th minute almost in a similar fashion, this time after meeting a low ball from fullback Khaled also from the left. Robin, who denied Hossain a hattrick chance by selfishly attempting to score, was finally helped by the two-goal midfielder to seal the victory three minutes from time. Hossain gave the final pass after a combined move to Robin who made no mistake to slot the ball home from close. Mohammedan coach Nazrul Islam Ledu was unhappy the way his boys were deprived of facilities. "We came to Dhaka on April 17 for the original schedule was three days later. However, the match was rescheduled on April 18 so we could not go back home," said Ledu after the loss. "We could train just twice during the last five days, that's why my players were not able to be at their best," said the Chittagonian, who guided the tournament's surprise package to hold teams like Abahani and Dhaka Mohammedan and beat Muktijoddha in the competition. The home team are bound to provide training facilities to the touring sides according to tournament regulations, which have not been followed in this case.
