Judges' Appointment
It'd need 20yrs to remove irregularities, says CJ

The irregularities in appointment of judges in the past will need at least 20 years to remove, observed Chief Justice Ruhul Amin yesterday.

Addressing as chief guest at a reception accorded to senior lawyers at the Noakhali bar in the afternoon, he said there is no scope of indiscipline in the judiciary. A judge must be prudent and he must follow the code of conduct, the chief justice added.

Referring to the separation of judiciary the chief justice said it is not possible for judges alone to implement it. It needs concerted efforts of the bar and bench.

District and Sessions Judge AFM Mostafa, judges, magistrates and lawyers attended the function.

The chief justice also attended a reception accorded to him by the Laxmipur bar association yesterday.

He advised the judges and magistrates to apply wisdom in dispensation of justice to the litigants. He said efforts should be made for speedy trial of cases by attending the court full time.

Expressing satisfaction at the presence of Justice Ruhul Amin among them the lawyers said this is for the first time in 120 years that a chief justice visited Laxmipur bar since it began its journey with a Chowki Munsef Court in 1887.
