BSF guns down cattle trader in Kurigram

Indian Border Security Force (BSF) shot dead a Bangladeshi cattle trader on Gaytapara border under Roumari upazila on Thursday night.The dead was identified as Akbar Hossain, 32, of Katiamari village under the upazila. According to BDR sources, the BSF troops of Kuchnimara camp opened fire on Akbar when he reached near border pillar no 1061 at around 10:30pm to meet some Indian cattle traders. Akbar died instantly. The Indian border guards took away the body. BDR strongly protested the killing and asked its Indian counterpart to return the body. Meanwhile, the BSF yesterday returned the bodies of two Bangladeshis--Ramiz Uddin and Rafiqul Islam-- after a flag meeting held on Chanduria border under Pirganj upazila of Thakurgaon, reports our correspondent. Ramiz, 45, of Amirpara village under Pirganj upazila, and Rafiq, 40, of Sadamongol village under Bochaganj upazila, were gunned down by the Indian border guards near Chanduria border in the early hours of Wednesday.
