3 DU students temporarily expelled

Dhaka University (DU) authorities yesterday temporarily expelled three students, also activists of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD), for beating up another student, also a journalist, on the university campus on Thursday, university sources said.Authorities also served show cause notices on them demanding explanation centring the issue within 15 days. Rahidul Islam Babul, Abu Saleh Mohammad Sohel and Atiqul Islam beat Shifarul Sheikh, DU correspondent of the daily Bhorer Kagoj and resident of SM Hall, on May 3. On May 4, hall authorities expelled them from hall on the same charge.
