Tk 23 lakh smuggled shrimp fries seized in Satkhira

BDR on Friday seized over 10 lakh smuggled Indian shrimp fries worth Tk 23 lakh from Alipur in Sadar upazila. BDR members stopped a micro-bus at Alipur on Satkhira- Kaligonj Road in the early morning. On search, they recovered 150 polythene bags containing smuggled Indian shrimp, BDR said. They seized the fries but the smuggler managed to escape, they said. On contact, 41, Rifles Battalion Commanding Officer (CO) Lt Col Asif Abdur Rouf confirmed the incident.
