Worker's death in road crash sparks violence
Bus set ablaze

A passenger bus was set ablaze and several other vehicles were vandalised at Jatrabari on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway following death of a garment worker in a road accident yesterday morning.Nasima Akter, 28, a garment worker of Shyampur in the capital, was killed when a Dhaka-bound bus from Comilla ran over her at Rayerbagh at 7:45am while she was crossing the road. Doctors at Dhaka Medical College Hospital declared Nasima dead after she was taken to the hospital. Traffic on the highway remained snapped for about half an hour, sources said. Two units of fire brigade doused the fire while police seized the bus. A case was filed with Jatrabari Police Station.
