"The banks have been asked to submit the statements within two days," a source said.

The taskforce has sent letters to the banks seeking information on the group's all deposit and loan accounts as well as the accounts that were closed.

Apart from Obaidul Karim, the taskforce asked for bank statements of his brothers Rezaul Karim and Ebadul Karim, wife Arzuda Karim, Shirin Karim (wife of Rezaul Karim), Nurunnahar Karim (wife of Ebadul Karim), Mehedi Hasan (Obaidul Karim's son-in-law and Managing Director Star Associates), Salman Obaidul Karim (Obaidul Karim's son) and Salman's wife, Zerin Karim (Obaidul Karim's daughter), Mashurul Karim (son of Rezaul Karim) and Labeeba Karim (daughter of Rezaul Karim).

The accounts statements of Orion Group Director Mujibul Haque and his wife Quamrunnahar Haque were also sought.

The companies under the Orion Group whose accounts information were asked are -- Kohinoor Chemical Company Limited, Orion Infusion Limited, Beacon Pharmaceuticals Limited, Orion Laboratories Limited, Royal Trading Corporation, Bangladesh Aero Vision Limited, Star Associates, Niazi Engineering, Agro Board Limited, Reedisa Knitex Limited, Reedisa Spinning Limited, Belhasa Accom Limited, Belhasa Accom and Associates Limited, BON Consortium Limited, Agrabad Accom Consortoum Limited, Arab Contractor Limited, Orion Gas Limited, BS Communications Limited, Amardesh Publications Limited, Accom Engineering Company Limited, East West Airlines Limited, Noakhali Gold Foods Limited, Accom Aviation Services, Accom Properties Limited, Interio Accom Consortium Limited, Orion Mashroom Limited, Avian Management Services Limited, Orion Trading Corporation Limited, Jaflong Tea Garden and Prudential Securities Limited.
