BFF election deferred to June 23

The election of the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) will be held on June 23 instead of the scheduled June 9, it was decided at the federation's executive committee meeting last night.

A BFF official informed that the chief election commissioner, who will be occupied on June 9, had requested the federation to defer the date.

The BFF, meanwhile, has lifted the five-year ban on former national footballer Rezaul Karim Liton.

The Brothers Union midfielder, who has served about two years of his ban, will now be able to play for his club from the second leg of the B. League.

It was also learned that former BFF member Fazlur Rahman Babul has submitted a letter to Sports Adviser Tapan Chowdhury and its copies to the BFF and National Sports Council seeking to know the legality of the BFF executive committee which expired on April 29.

Babul also challenged the fishy movements of the BFF about preparing its councillors' list, alleging that the BFF did not sent letters properly to the affiliated bodies. It was also alleged that letters were sent to their chosen organisers, keeping the main body in the dark.
