Time for selling, delivary of AJM structures extended


A meeting of the Advisory Council on Econimic Affairs yesterday approved a proposal for enlisting the investor-cum-operator appointment project in the Private Infrastructure Project under the Rehabilitation-Operation-Transfer of 1200 tons of slipway of Chittagong Port Authority (CPA).

The meeting also approved a proposal for extension of three months' time for selling and delivery of the structure and other materials of Adamjee Jute Mills (AJM), an official handout said.

Adviser for Finance, Planning, Commerce, Post and Telecommunications Dr A R M irza Azizul Islam presided over the meeting.

Adviser for Communication, Shipping, Civil Aviation and Tourism and Liberation War Affairs Maj Gen (Retd) M A Matin, Adviser for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Food and Disaster Management, Science and Information and Communications Tecnology and Youth and Sports Tapan Chowdhury, Adviser for Insustries, Textile and Jute, Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs Geeti Ara Safiya Choudhury, Adviser for Education, Primary and Mass Education and Cultureal Affairs Ayub Quadri and Chairman of the Privatisation Commission M Abu Solaiman Chowdhury attended the meeting.

The meeting also approved the Endowment Fund for small and medium industries proposed by the Ministry of Industries and proposed amendment to the Privatisation Rules, 2003 and Privatisation Policy-2001.
