Staff Correspondent
The caretaker government (CG) can take necessary steps to improve the socio-economic as well as human rights situation of indigenous people, said the speakers at a function in Rajshahi yesterday. They said the past political governments did very little for the adivasi people, but this government can do it quite easily. The function was organised by CCD Bangladesh at Haji Montajul Haque Memorial Hall in the city to mark the five-day training course for 31 adivasi people about community journalism. The organisers hoped that the adivasi participants would be able to work as professional journalists after the end of course. The training course was conducted among others by Dulal Chandra Biswas, professor of mass communication and journalism department of Rajshahi University, UNHCR National Protection Officer Dr Uttam Kumar Das, The Daily Star Staff Reporter Anwar Ali Himu, CCD Director GM Murtaza and Course Coordinator Linus Malo.
