Maria Bello replaces Rachel Weisz in 'Mummy 3'
Maria Bello will replace Rachel Weisz in the third instalment of The Mummy franchise. Weisz turned down the offer to reprise her role as Evelyn, a bookish yet sensuous Egyptologist, instead deciding to make several other movies (possibly including Sin City 2).Rob Cohen is directing this adventure set in the Far East. It brings the O'Connells and their son to the forbidden tombs of China and the Himalayas, where they battle a shape-shifting mummy and an ancient Chinese emperor, who is cursed by a wicked wizard.
