Solskjaer out of Euro qualifier

Manchester United's veteran striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is out of Norway's European Championship qualifier against Malta on Saturday after suffering a knee injury, the Norwegian federation said Wednesday.The injury is a recurrence of an old-standing problem that saw Solskjaer miss almost three seasons of action for the Old Trafford giants. "It's the same knee that has caused the Manchester United striker problems," said a statement on the Norwegian FA's website. The former Molde player has been replaced in the squad by Aston Villa's John Carew. Norway coach Aage Hareide is still hopeful that Solskjaer will be available against Hungary on June 6.
