50 rickshaws, 36 CNG-run autorickshaws seized in Ctg

Traffic Department of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) launched a drive here yesterday against illegal rickshaws and CNG-run autorickshaws. On the first day, the department in a drive in the city's New Market area seized around 96 vehicles, including 50 rickshaws and 36 CNG-run autorickshaws, for plying without valid documents, sources said. CMP Traffic also held 36 drivers of CNG-run autorickshaws for having no driving license and required fitness certificates and filed cases against 257 CNG-run autorickshaws. Officials in the department said they will continue the drive in different busy intersections and points of the city like Bohaddarhat, Sholoshahar, Chowmuhani, Tygerpass, GEC and Dewanhat everyday.
