Programme to celebrate conquest of Chullu West
Bangla Mountaineering and Trekking Club (BMTC) organises a video and slide show at 10:30am at National Press Club in the city today to celebrate the conquest of Chullu West, a 21,059 feet Himalayan peak, by a Bangladeshi team, says a press release.

Leading author Prof Muhammad Zafar Iqbal and Chairman of Transcom Group Latifur Rahman will be the guests of honour.

Founder of BMTC and a traveler to Antarctica and the North Pole Enam Ul Haque will commend the team's success while Chairman of BMTC Enayet Ullah Khan will preside over the ceremony.

The Himalayan expedition will be presented through a five-minute video and 10-minute slide show.

The four-member expedition team led by Sajal Khaled started trekking to Chullu West from a place called Nadi in Annapurna Range on May 4, 2007. After 12 days of trekking and climbing, the team reached Chullu West on 16 May 2007. The other members of the team were MA Muhit, Noor Muhammad and Musa Ibrahim.
