Rain likely to continue for 2 more days

The monsoon has set in and the rain persisting in the central part of the country including the capital will continue for couple of days, Met office said. Along with strong monsoon, western low pressure and easterly wet wind and deep convective clouds over the north Bay of Bengal, squally weather may affect the country's sea ports. Maritime ports of Chittagong and Mongla have been advised to hoist local cautionary signal number three and all fishing boats and trawlers over the north Bay have been advised to keep close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice, a Met office bulletin said. From Chittagong, the monsoon wind has reached the central part of the country and it will spread throughout the country within 48 hours, the met office said. As in other years, thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind are likely to occur till September, it said. According to their forecast, rain or thundershower accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely in a few places of Rajshahi and Khulna divisions, and many places in Dhaka, Sylhet, Barisal and Chittagong divisions. The day temperature will, however, remain unchanged. The Met office yesterday recorded the highest 41-millimetre rainfall in Bogra.
