Rab member dies on duty

A member of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) died of a cardiac arrest in the early hours of yesterday.Rab sources said Golam Rabbani, 35, a member of Rab-1, fell sick and fell onto the ground at about 11:30pm on Thursday while he was on duty at the Rab-1 headquarters in Uttara. Rabbani, who hailed from Thakurgaon, was rushed to Combine Military Hospital (CMM) where doctors declared him dead at about 12:30am yesterday. Major Amin of Rab-1 told UNB that doctors, in the death report, mentioned cardiac arrest as the cause of Rabbani's death.
