Squse! The Hand

President of Kyoto-based robot venture Squse, Mikio Shimizu, displays a portable soft robot hand which has 23 artificial muscles powered by pneumatic actuators to vent and stretch each joint of the fingers, in Tokyo on June 7. Squse developed the artificial robot hand to pinch or grasp objects like the human hand for an application for disabled persons. PHOTO: AFP |
