Hanif's son Khokon picked up by joint forces

The joint forces picked up Dhaka City Awami League leader Syeed Khokon from his Banani residence early yesterday.However, it was not clear why Khokon, son of former Dhaka city mayor late Mohammad Hanif, was detained. Sources said the crack forces raided his house around 1:30am and he was being interrogated at an undisclosed location. He was neither handed over to police nor produced before a court till midnight. Khokon contested in the 2001 general elections from a Dhaka constituency and was defeated by incumbent Dhaka City Mayor Sadeque Hossain Khoka.
