Wenger to see out his contract
Afp, London
Arsene Wenger pledged on Sunday to see out the year remaining on his contract with Premiership giants Arsenal ending speculation that he would leave because of the stunning departure of vice-chairman David Dein earlier this year. The Frenchman added that he would sit down and talk with the board when his contract finishes next year about a new one. "I've a contract for one more year here and I'll complete that contract," Wenger told the News of the World. "I've never broken a contract in my entire career and next summer I will sit down with the board and see." Wenger remains upbeat that despite Arsenal ending the season without a trophy -- they finished a distant fourth in the Premiership behind Manchester United -- they will make great strides in the next campaign. "There's absolutely no need to panic. We finished fourth in the table -- level on points with Liverpool -- and we've a very young side which, I believe, can improve again this season," said Wenger. "We'll bring in new people only if they're exceptional players."
