Habib gets Chand Sultana Literacy Prize
M Habibur Rahman, director, Education Sector, Save the Children USA, has won Chand Sultana Literacy Prize 2006 for his contribution in developing non-formal education in Bangladesh, says a press release. Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) introduced the award in 2001 in memory of Chand Sultana, a renowned non-formal education material developer of DAM to acknowledge the country's renowned literacy personnel and organisations for their innovative implementation and research on literacy, non-formal education, cancer, HIV/AIDS, etc. He will be handed over the award on June 16. The award includes Tk 30000, a crest and a citation.
