Leader's responsibility

During his time at the White House, President Harry Truman used to keep a plaque on his desk that read "The buck stops here"; in plain English the phrase meant that the ultimate responsibility for the action of his administration rested with him. Though he didn't come up with the phrase, he surely made it famous through practising a no-nonsense brand of leadership that emphasised the importance of owning up to one's responsibilities. Would it be tantamount to "day dreaming" if I expect the "top two" to take this phrase into their hearts and for once, just for once, admit that they bear the ultimate responsibility for all the ills their party men have caused over the past fifteen years and apologise to the nation for not living up to the responsibilities of their sworn offices?

I can't help but shake my head in despair and disbelief every single time I see and hear "them" on the Bangladeshi cable channels that are available these days in North America. I still cannot figure out what sin we have committed to deserve such visionless, feudalistic leadership for such a long time. But what adds most to my unfathomable despair are the cronies of "the two" declaring that their respective parties don't have dynastic rules! I wonder how these people will respond to questions like, Is water wet? Does fire burn? Don't you people have any shame? From what I have seen from them so far, "No" will be a high percentage answer.
