ACC files case against 2 N'ganj BRTA staffs

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) yesterday filed a case against two officials of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) of Narayanganj zone on charges of embezzlement and receiving bribes.Benazir Ahmed, deputy director of ACC Narayanganj office, filed the case with Fatullah Police Station against Qazi Mahbubur Rahman, former inspector of motor vehicle at BRTA Narayanganj office, and office secretary Gangamoyee Dutta. Mahbubur Rahman was accused of embezzling Tk 2 crore from registration and driving licence fees while Gangamoyee Dutta was charged with taking a bribe of Tk 3.15 lakh. Officer in-charge of Fatullah Police Station said they accepted the case and the ACC will investigate it.
