Drive against corruption
Shalim Khan, On e-mail
Bangladesh is going through a radical transition that will enable the country to prosper, progress and sustain growth long term. The necessity of eliminating or reducing corruption for a developing country such as Bangladesh cannot be over-emaphasised, not only for the people but also the expatriates and non-resident Bangladeshis. I am a British born Bangladeshi living in London and I read The Daily Star news online. I believe the drive against corruption is fundamental to economic growth. The arrests of key politicians, business people in the last few months, demonstrate that no individual is above the law. We should applaud these actions which may seem harsh but necessary to contain corruption. As a reader of The Daily Star, I believe your coverage of national events has been consistent and impartial.
