Dhaka-Kolkata train service

Another milestone of the present caretaker government would be the opening of train service between the Dhaka (Banani) railway station and the Kolkata (Shealdah) station. The previous two political governments took the initiative for opening this route but their commitments went down the lanes. Bangladesh is a densely populated country and forgoing the election pledges is common. As usual, the Bangladeshis would swarm to buy train tickets with valuable US dollars and travel to India for sightseeing, meeting relatives and friends, hospitalisation and offering fateha at the shrines.
