Chowdhury Alam sued for ‘extortion’

Detained Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) Ward Commissioner Chowdhury Alam and three others have been sued in an extortion case. Aminul Islam, director of Ajmeri Transport, filed the case with Shahbag Police Station on Thursday night. The complainant alleged that Alam took Tk 11.70 lakh in toll from him at different times from December 2005 to January 15, 2007. Chowdhury Alam is one of the corruption suspects on the list of the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC).
