In a message to the British Queen, President Iajuddin said, "It gives me great pleasure to convey to you my warmest greetings and felicitations."

He also expressed his strong belief that the existing friendly relations between the two countries would be strengthened further in the coming years.

Chief Adviser Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed, in his message to British Prime Minister Tony Blair, said, "The government and the people of Bangladesh jointly convey to you and through you to the government and the people of the United Kingdom our heartiest greetings and warmest facilitation."
