An evening of Nazrul songs by Arun Anjali

To celebrate ten years of tenure of noted Nazrul singer Khairul Anam Shakil as a music teacher, cultural organisation Arun Anjoli arranged a musical programme on June 14. The event was held at Chhayanaut Shangkriti Bhaban. The evening featured performances by students of Shakil. It was the first stage performance for most of them, informed Shakil. The aim of the initiative is to bring forth new talents and familiarise them with stage performance, he added. Young singers presented a number of solo and choral renditions of Nazrul songs. The programme started with a chorus, Deshgouro bijoye debraj. Choncholo Shyamol, Shaono raate jodi, Megher domru bajey, Tumi jotoi dohona, Keno dile e kaanta, Jakna nishi gaan-e and many more were performed throughout the evening.
