Cellphone shop owner shot in city
Two criminals caught red-handed

Criminals shot an owner of a mobile phone shop at Hajaribagh in the city yesterday. Local people caught two of the criminals red-handed and handed over them to police after a mob beating. Sources said two local criminals Alamgir Hossain alias Nur Alam and Bhanga Nura, entered the shop of Enayet Khan, 35, at 4:00pm yesterday and sprayed four rounds of bullets on Enayet. When the criminals fled the scene, Enayet was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. However, locals caught them while they were trying to escape the scene at Chorghata in Hajaribagh and handed them over to police after a mob beating. Police recovered a US made pistol and nine rounds of bullets from their possession. Hospital sources said Enayet received two bullets in his right leg. Sources said both Nur Alam and Bhanga Nura came to his shop four days ago and asked him to give them a cellphone recharge card on loan, which Enayet refused.
