UAE to provide compensation for injured camel jockeys

The government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will give Tk 60 crore in financial assistance to the children of four countries, who were injured in accidents while being used as camel jockeys in that country.

The countries are Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sudan and Mauritania. The Bangladeshi children, who returned home since 1993, will get financial support ranging between $1,000 and $5,000 each, an official handout said.

A meeting will be held in Abu Dhabi from June 26 to 28 to finalise details of providing compensation for the injured children. Representatives from the four countries, including Bangladesh, will attend the meeting, it said.
