Russell's Mahbub, Mostafa and Kachi all won in straight sets in their matches against Mehdi, Anup and Jaynal of Brothers.

With this win, defending champions Russell are level on points with title aspirants Bangladesh Biman. The two sides face off today to decide the table-toppers in the first phase of competition.

In the other matches, Dhaka Mariners Club and Wari Club recorded identical 3-0 wins against Engineers Club and Mohammad-pur Boys respectively.

NAT'L VOLLEYBALL
Nine teams will take part in the final round of the 23rd Men's National Volleyball Championship which begins at the Mirpur indoor stadium today.

Dhaka, Kushtia, Khulna, Dinajpur, Army, Navy, Rifles, Police and Chittagong University are divided into three groups. The competition will begin with the match between Rifles and Dinajpur this morning.

NAT'L HOCKEY
UNB adds: BKSP won their second consecutive match in the 27th National Hockey Championship when they thrashed Dinajpur 11-1 at the Maulana Bhasani National Stadium.

Syed Al Masum notched four goals including a hattrick, Wajid and Shihab netted twice each while Sujan, Sajjad and Nannu scored one goal apiece for BKSP, who led the first half 5-0. Towfiquddin netted the consolation goal for Dinajpur from a penalty corner.

Rajshahi Division also posted their second successive win beating Chittagong Division 2-1. In other matches, Chittagong handed a 5-1 defeat to Joypurhat and Bangladesh Air Force beat Bangladesh Police 4-2.
