Woman dies from bomb splinters

A woman was killed after allegedly being hit by splinters of a bomb dropped from a training aircraft of Bangladesh Air Force at Pahar Pabaijan of Muktagacha upazila of Mymensingh yesterday afternoon.The victim was identified as Ramisa Khatun, 30, wife of Arsad Uddin of Pahar Pabaijan. According to locals and police, Ramisa was hit when she was grazing her goat in a field near Rajmari Primary School. She died on the spot. Police claimed the bomb was accidentally dropped outside the perimeters of Rasulpur Firing Range. They kept the body in Muktagacha Police Station and cordoned off the spot. Following the incident, officials of Rasulpur Firing Range and Bangladesh Air Force visited the spot. On contact, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said they were not aware of the incident.
