Rejoinder
Awami League leader and former civil aviation minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain sent a rejoinder to a news item published in The Daily Star on June 18 headlined "Big shots levelled vast terrain of Ctg hills".In the rejoinder, Mahbubur Rahman, son of Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, said they inherited more than seven acres of hilly land in Chittagong. He sold the land in the face of financial crisis and the new owner of the land "developed" the land and sold it to several people as plots since 1992 to 1995. "So it is not correct that Engineer Mosharraf was involved in hill-cutting. He has all along been careful about environment," the rejoinder said.
