Dulu sued for forgery in taking Rajuk plot

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) yesterday filed a case against BNP leader and former deputy minister for land Ruhul Kuddus Talukder Dulu for taking a Rajuk plot through false affidavits.

Police said Dulu has 22 decimals of land of the Latif Real Estate at north Adabor and his wife Sabina Yeasmin has a flat in Gulshan-2 in the city. But while applying to Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) for a government plot at Banani, the ex-lawmaker mentioned in the affidavit that he or his wife does not have any property in the capital.

According to the first information report (FIR) of the case filed by CID Inspector Abdullahel Baki with Motijheel Police Station, Dulu applied for the five-katha government plot on January 27, 2004.

On the basis of his application and the affidavit Rajuk allocated the plot. Later, Rajuk sought another affidavit from Dulu on a Tk 150 government stamp in which he again mentioned the same.

Dulu got the ownership of the plot on December 12, 2005.

The CID investigation found that Dulu had bought the 22 decimals of land in 1995 and purchased the flat in his wife's name in 2002.

Dulu, who has been facing several charges including two for patronising militants, surrendered before a Dhaka court on February 20.
