Bring corrupt political leaders to book

Ferdous Ahmad Quarishi, chief convener of the proposed new political party, yesterday called for bringing all corrupt political leaders to book in the light of charges brought against them. Addressing a press briefing at his Segunbagicha office in the capital, he also demanded halting of membership of the corrupt politicians from their respective parties. About the suspected corrupt politicians reportedly joining the proposed party, Quarishi said, "This party is yet to be formed and it will take all measures so that no corrupt politicians could join it." He said the activities of the new party will begin in full swing after the withdrawal of ban on politics. Quarishi, editor of Dainik Deshbangla, claimed that present reform initiative in different political parties is the outcome of forming of new political party. "We have created an effect on politics at the very beginning of our journey," he added. Kazi Firoz Rashid, Tajul Islam Chowdhury, Fazlur Rahman, Shiekh Shahid and MM Shahin were present at the briefing.
