Angry relatives ransack clinic

Relatives of a patient yesterday ransacked a hospital in the city's Mohammadpur area following his death.The deceased was identified as Jahangir Alam, 30, son of Abdul Majid of Shah Islambagh area under Lalbagh Police Station. Family sources said Jahangir sustained critical injuries in a road accident near Mawa Bridge on June 24. He was first admitted to a hospital in Munshiganj and then shifted to City Hospital at Satmasjid road in Mohammadpur. Relatives alleged that jahangir's health condition deteriorated at about 10:30am when the on duty doctor gave him an injection and he died instantly. They further alleged that Jahangir died due to wrong treatment given by the doctors of the hospital. On information, police rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. Physicians of the hospital, however, could not be contacted for their comment. The body was sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.
