The boys were identified as Nurnabi Brishti, 12, son of Alfaz Mondal, and Nurul Amin, 16, son of Fajal Haq.

Police said the boys died on the spot at about 10:00am as they came into contact with a live electric wire, which was snapped by a storm in the morning.

Local people said some villagers took illegal electricity connection from a pole of Palli Bidyut using GI wire, which was snapped during the storm.
