Workshop on folk culture ends

A three-day workshop titled 'Role of proverbs and maxims in folk knowledge' concluded in the city on Thursday with a call to enrich the folk culture through quality research at the grassroots level.Folklore researchers from different districts and upazilas took part in the workshop and presented proverbs and maxims collected from their own areas in their papers. Asiatic Society of Bangladesh organised the workshop under its 'Cultural Survey of Bangladesh' project in an effort to enrich the culture and heritage of the country. National University Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Wakil Ahmed inaugurated the workshop on June 26, attended by Asiatic Society President Prof Emajuddin Ahmed, General Secretary Prof Shajahan Mia and Prof Sirajul Islam.
