The Skop, a combined platform for journalists and employees in the newspaper industry, made the call at a meeting, with its co-convenor Mozammel Haque in the chair, says a press release.

The Skop leaders also hailed the caretaker government for withdrawing the full tariff on newsprint.

Skop leaders Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul, Fazle Imam, Ruhul Amin Gazi, Matiur Rahman Talukder, Abdul Jalil Bhuyian, Abul Hashem, Khairul Islam, Altaf Mahmud, Azizul Islam Panna, Omar Farook and Sarder Farid Ahmad attended the meeting.
