Project agreement signed with DPOs
Bangladesh Protibandhi Kallyan Samity (BPKS) and 29 Disabled People's Organisations (DPOs) signed a project agreement at Uttara in the city yesterday, says a press release.

Later, the first floor of BPKS Complex Block-B was also inaugurated.

BPKS has undertaken the project with the funding support of Caritas-Australia and Ausaid to build up the capacity of other DPOs and improve their quality. Under this project, 29 organisations will get two-year financial support of about Tk 20 lakh, including technical support.

The project activities are to make formation of DPOs in 22 districts.

National Alliance of Disabled Peoples' Organisations (NADPO), a national network, and DPOs and DPODs are among the signatories to the agreement.

Abdus Sattar Dulal, founder and executive director of BPKS, delivered the address of welcome. He said BPKS is now working in 32 districts.

Saiful Islam, chairman of BPKS, presided over the ceremony.
