Outlawed party leader arrested in Khulna

The police arrested a leader of outlawed New Biplobi Communist Party (NBCP) from Dumuria upazila parishad compound in Khulna yesterday morning. The arrestee, Kartik Chandra Mandol, 50, is also the chairman of Magurkhali Union Parishad. He was shown arrested in an extortion case filed earlier with Dumuria Police Station by UP member Arup Ratan Mandol. According to the police, there are allegations of murder, extortion, illegal grabbing of shrimp enclosure, land grabbing and drug trafficking against him.
