16 BCL, Jubo League men sued in N'ganj


Police have filed a case against 16 leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and Jubo League for bringing out a procession in the town on Thursday demanding release of Awami League (AL) President Sheikh Hasina.

The officer-in-charge (OC) of Sadar Police Station said the case was filed on Thursday night with the police station against the BCL and Jubo League men for violating the emergency power Rules.

Police arrested Jubo League leader Shahid at his house in Dewbhog area of the town at midnight on Thursday for participating in the procession.

The law enforcers yesterday raided the houses of the accused BCL and Jubo League leaders and activists to arrest them.
