Faezul Huq’s death condoled


Different socio-political organisations and individuals yesterday condoled the death of AK Faezul Huq, former state minister for jute and son of Sher-e-Bangla AK Fazlul Huq.

President Iajuddin Ahmed expressed deep shock at the death of AK Faezul Huq.

In a condolence message yesterday, he said Faezul Huq was endowed with creative faculties in different fields, including education, industry, literature and politics.

"The country has lost an experienced politician and social worker at the death of Huq," Iajuddin added.

He also conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family members and prayed for salvation of the departed soul.

Speaker of Jatiya Sangsad Barrister Mohammad Jamiruddin Sircar and Deputy Speaker Akhter Hamid Siddiqui in a joint statement also condoled the death of Huq.

Hailing his research-oriented writings, they also recalled his contributions as a political leader.

Information Adviser Mainul Hosein also expressed deep shock at Huq's death.

He, in a condolence message, said the country has lost an eminent social worker as well as a politician with the death of Huq.

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia in a message said Huq was a "Talented politician as well as a social worker endowed with immense creativity in different arena of knowledge".

Meanwhile, Awami League (AL) Acting President Zillur Rahman and Acting General Secretary Mukul Bose also condoled Huq's death.

In a condolence message, the AL leaders said AL has lost an experienced leader at his death and prayed for salvation of the departed soul.

Expressing deep shock, Workers' Party President Rashed Khan Menon and General Secretary Bimol Biswas, in a statement, said the nation will follow the honesty, devotion and patriotism of Faezul Huq.

Barisal Bivagh Samity condoled the death of Faezul Huq and also expressed resentment for not taking any measure to hold Huq's namaz-e-janaza on the Jatiya Sangsad premises.

Bangladesh Nari Mukti Andolon, Jatiya Gonotantric League, Bangladesh Muktijoddha Projonmo League, Muktijoddha Paribar Kalyan Sangsad, Muktijoddha Bahumukhi Kalyan Samity, Dakkhin Bangla Jubo Kalyan Samity and Muktijoddha Palli Society also condoled the death of Faezul Huq.
