The victims were identified as Akkas Ali, 65 and his wife Mamtaz Begum, 50.

Neighbours said Mamtaz was electrocuted while hanging her wet clothes from a GI chord for drying. As her husband rushed to save her, he also got electrocuted.

They used to live alone and since their tenants were away to be at their workplaces no one else was there when the accident occurred, said Shamsun Nahar, one of the neighbours.
