dRockstar 2 on Channel-i
The hunt for a rock band continues


Popular talent hunt show dRockstar 2, the hunt for a rock band has entered a new phase. The programme aims at finding a rock band and is sponsored by djuice, Grameenphone's youth lifestyle brand. djuice first launched the dRockstar last year to provide a platform for young talents. The show received a warm response from the audience.

dRockstar 2 had its debut on May 2 at Khulna-- followed by countrywide audition rounds at all the six divisions.

From hundreds of entries, 18 bands made it to the third round. The bands are Bortoman (Khulna), Equal (Khulna), Dark (Dhaka), Off Street (Dhaka), Border (Dhaka), Mechanix (Dhaka), Cactus (Chittagong), ATR (Dhaka), Dreck (Dhaka), Beduin (Khulna), Biborno (Chittagong), Powersurge (Dhaka), Dour (Dhaka), Core (Dhaka), Eclipse (Chittagong), New Rainbow (Barisal), Britto (Rajshahi), and Radio Active (Dhaka)

The third round was aired on Channel-i on July 10, 12, 17 and 19. The results of the third round will be announced in two episodes at tonight's episode and on the following episode on July 26. From third round 12 bands will make it to the next level.

dRockstar-2 is aired on Channel-i every Tuesday and Thursday at 7:50pm. Sony Ericsson is the co-partner of dRockstar 2 while Bangladesh Musical Bands Association (BAMBA) is the strategic partner.
