Aug 17 Blasts in Sylhet
Argument in 2 cases July 30

Argument in two cases related to series bomb blasts will now be held at Sylhet Divisional Speedy Trial Tribunal on July 30.

Judge Biplob Goswami deferred the date yesterday as the deposition of the prosecution witnesses in the cases ended on July 23.

These two cases are among the 10 filed in connection with the series blasts that took place at different areas in Sylhet city on August 17, 2005.

Earlier accused Abul Hai and Mohsin Khan, both ehsar members of outlawed JMB, gave confessional statements about their complicity with the blasts before a Class I magistrate.

Mohsin Khan, 27, son of late Rusmot Ali of Kaziatal village under Muradnagar upazila, and Abdul Hai, 27, son of Late Abdul Malek of Asadnagar village under Bhrahmanpara upazila of Comilla, were the teachers of Sengram Dakhil Madrasa at Jaintapur upazila of the district.

While serving as teachers, they got themselves involved in JMB activities.
