The current state of education in Bangladesh is very deplorable. The maintenance of quality education is a challenging issue. The education in Bangladesh is mainly theoretical and memory based. The students study for passing exams not for gathering knowledge. But true education means gathering knowledge, not passing exams. The quality of education is associated with the behavioural pattern of the teachers. The relationship between teachers and students must be democratic, not autocratic. On the other hand, student politics is the biggest hurdle in the development of education. Partisan students politics is hampering the sound atmosphere of education greatly and is spoiling the bright future of students.Now, the present government has to come forward to modernise the education system. It is good news that the government has taken some revolutionary steps to spread the IT education throughout the country.
