No headway in Jessore BNP leader murder case

There has been no breakthrough in the investigation into Jessore BNP leader Abdar Faruque murder case.

Abdar Faruque, joint secretary of Jessore BNP, was stabbed to death at Shekhati in Jessore town on Wednesday night.

OC Abdul Matin of Jessore Kotwali Police Station said that the police have identified the criminals involved in the murder but could not arrest them.

The lone eyewitness of the murder, rickshawpuller Mosharaf Hossain, was taken into safe custody of the police on Thursday night. Faruque was returning to his home by a rickshaw when the criminals attacked him.

The rickshawpuller told the police that Abbas, a terrorist in the area, led the killing mission. Abbas patronises a group of professional killers, OC Matin said.

Rashida Begum, wife of slain BNP leader, lodged an FIR yesterday without naming anybody.
