‘Declare Aug 15 as mourning day’

Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) formed a human chain on the Dhaka University (DU) campus yesterday demanding declaration of August 15 as national mourning day and immediate execution of the verdict of Bangabandhu murder case.The BCL, the student wing of Awami League (AL), also demanded immediate release of AL President Sheikh Hasina. Some 20 to 25 activists led by BCL Joint Secretary Mohammad Jasim, DU unit President Shohel Rana Tipu and General Secretary Sajjad Saqib Badsha formed the human chain at Curzon Hall at around 10:15am. During the 5-munite programme, they covered their mouths with black cloths. They had left the spot before the law enforcer arrived.
