Musical soiree by CITADEL


CITADEL, a socio-cultural organisation arranged a musical soiree at the National Press Club Auditorium on August 10. Considering the current severe flood situation, the organisers decided to donate proceeds from ticket sales to help the flood victims.

Prior to the musical performances, Khurshida Haque, president of CITADEL, introduced the organisation and its objectives to the audience. Former Air Vice Marshal of Bangladesh Air Force, Fakhrul Azam was the chief guest.

Singer Timir Nandi, Bulbul Mahalanabish, Jamil Ibrahim, Rebeka Sultana and Julie Sharmili rendered Tagore, Nazrul and adhunik songs on rain. Upcoming artiste Julie Sharmili rendered Ogo brishti amar chokher, Anek bristi jhorey, and Shakhi shedin sraboney. Rebeka Sultana's bhajan Barsey badariya saawan ki was well appreciated. Jamil Ibrahim sang Ei rimjhim jhim borosha, Ei meghla dine ekla and Tumi eley. Timir Nandi entertained the audiences with songs like Elo borosha je sohosha and more. Bulbul Mahalanabish wrapped up the programme with Srabono jhulatey, Rumjhum rumjhum ke ele and Madhugandhey bhora.

Arefin Shamsul Hoque, general secretary of CITADEL rendered his poems at the event.
