Four fishermen missing after trawler capsizes

Four fishermen went missing as a hilsha-laden trawler capsized in the Boleshher river in Sarankhola upazila on Sunday night as fishing fleets returning to coast from rough sea amid a monsoon depression.

Sources said a trawler with 10 fishermen on board capsized in the river near Nonirmajhir char due to strong currents. Four of them went missing while six were rescued.

Two of the injured fishermen were admitted to Patharghata upazila health complex.

With this, at least 15 fishing trawlers have capsized in the Bay in a fortnight in the wake of a persisting inclement weather across the country.
